Custom Shop Special Edition! Made In USA!
This is really cool. You are looking at a Vintage 1987 Gibson Thunderbird Bass Custom Shop Special Edition. Great Playing and Sounding Bass! The Thunderbird Bass was originally designed in 1963 by an automotive designer from the Chrysler corporation. His design was a blend of big taillights and futuristic space / rocket design. After all, this was the early 1960's and space exploration with the Gemini program was very popular.
*** Headstock Repair*** There was a crack in the Headstock just below the Custom Shop label. Our luthier professionally repaired it and painted and re-cleared the crack. Solid and Tight. Better than New! You have to look real close to see it.
This is a "Pro Level" Custom Shop Bass. Not too many of these around. Great Tone. If you want to stand out from the crowd, this will definitely do the Trick!
Our luthier did a complete setup. Brand new strings were installed. Awesome Player! Gig ready on Arrival!

Cosmetics: Good Condition. There is some minor wear on this bass. Keep in mind that this is a 30 year old vintage bass that has been played. Scratches, scuffs, chips, dings and dents on both sides of the body. Nothing too bad, just normal wear from use. There are some light strumming / picking scratches on the front of the body. The back has some minor belt buckle rash. Neck has a couple of small dings. Fretboard and Headstock in great shape. Gibson Hard Shell Case has scratches, scuffs and minor tears in the tolex. One of the latches does not work. It is missing the hasp. (See picture #12). Interior is in your face Royal Blue! It is used. Not perfect. Good Condition. Overall, a really nice guitar. Look at the pictures closely. They will tell the story.
