RARE Vintage Slingerland Snare Drum - Magnum w/Slapshot Strainer Early 1980s Black - 14x8

Up for grabs is an ultra-rare 14x8 Slingerland Magnum snare with the infamous Slapshot strainer.  Check out the attached Youtube video I created for it.  I haven't seen many of these, especially in the coveted color of Black.  For those of you not familiar with this revolutionary design, the Slapshot provides both horizontal and vertical snare adjustment.  You can find the exact sound you want, then lock onto it.  The throw-off keeps snares perfectly taut, even when they are not lying against the drum head.  This snare has not been gigged by me.  It has been played only in the comfort of my home, sounds great, and records awesome.   Being 40 years old (I actually saw a 1982 ad for the Slapshot in a magazine), it has the expected amount of scuffs/scratches.  The lugs and tensioner chrome are in excellent condition, with next to zero pitting and no flaking.  The top and bottom hoop chrome shine nicely as well and is in very good shape, with no flaking and minor oxidation in certain small spots.  The wrap is tight, and the strainer works perfectly.  The wires are 20 strand, and are missing two strands - which do not at all affect the sound (IMO).  I have seen these wires up for sale from time to time, but never felt the need to purchase them.  Also, I believe the previous owner added an extra piece of dampner on the muffler (see photos) - not sure why as it really is not needed.  I would imagine the extra piece can be removed with a razor but I didn't want to mess with it since I do not use a muffler anyways.  Everything is original, with no extra holes, and I rate the snare from VG to Excellent condition.  The snare sings, and the strainer mechanism is in extremely good shape both cosmetically and functionally.  I have tried to capture every part of the snare through pictures and video.  If you want additional images or have questions, feel free to ask prior to purchasing.  Of course, I will package it professionally and ship for FREE in the USA.
