The High-Speed- Shredder Yngwie Malmsteen, even called "Paganini" of Rockguitar, built himself end of 70-ies a scalloped fretboard to his Strat , as seen on a lute of the 17. century. Since this time all his most vintageyellow stageguitars are modified in this way to perform 32-tel diagonal runs and arpeggio-cascades .... even Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore played scalloped strats tuned in his own made way...
