This is a circa 1960 Airline Model 7214 Amp in Case with a Black finish. Made by Valco/National, and sold through Montgomery Ward stores these models were considered state of the art for the time. The guitar is short scale, fitting into a case with a built-in tube amplifier. The guitar features a single-coil pickup, with a volume and tone control.
The amp itself is very similar to a Fender Champ, with a tube complement of 12AX7, 6V6, and 5Y3. It's no slouch, this one, and sounds far better and louder than the tiny amps typically found in the similar Silvertone models. Its speaker appears to be non-original, but vintage and sonically very similar. This package is in good shape - the guitar plays well, with some scratches here and there, and the case has some rips in its tolex, exposing its wood. It sounds awesome, and is incredibly fun to play!
