This listing is for a
used (light average wear) Ibanez TS5 Soundtank Tubescreamer (from the Ibanez Soundtank Series / Ibanez 5 Series) effect pedal.  From the 1990s.

The casing and the battery cover are made of plastic. Therefore you have to be carefully not to step on it too hard and the handle it carefully. It is not extremely delicate -- but since the casing & battery cover are made of plastic out - puts this pedal at risk of cracking if not careful or if you are rough on it.

The pedal for sale in this listing has the Toshiba TA75558 chip - actually it is marked TA75558P (which is the chip that the pedal in this listing has). SEE close-up picture # 5. NOTE: the upper right area of the letter "P" is slightly faded.

Sorry No Box, NO Paperwork, and NO battery.

The pedal was tested and works fine.

NO longer made. Great for collectors, for someone to use, or both, Also great to give to someone as a gift.

Using REVERB's condition criteria - I put its condition as Good. But from a regular stand point - I would say that it is in between Good and Very Good (loosely I would say that it is like a 7 out of 10. Your opinion might differ.

The pedal was used and it is several years old - therefore - each side has some imperfections. You can see most (not all) of these imperfections in pictures # 8, #10, #11, #12, #13, and #14.
  • In pictures # 1, # 15 and # 16 -- the imperfections are not visible - they are just general pictures showing the pedal.

The CASING has nicks, scratches, and scuffs. It also has some surface cloudiness and some shiny surface spots & shiny surface lines. The bottom edges of he casing has some nicks and dings.

The LABEL on the top side (on the battery cover)that says TUBESCREAMER SOUNDTANK has a few short surface scratches. and a few tiny light nicks.

The RUBEBR ON THE BOTTOM has some tackiness (a little sticky). It has surface scuffs, s few deeper scuffs, some light scratches, a couple of tiny nicks, and some cloudiness.

The BOTTOM LABEL is mostly fine. It has a few very light hair-line surface scratches and a couple of very small impressions.

The outer areas of the METAL BOTTOM PLATE that are visible (mostly the corners) have some oxidation, discoloration, and very short scratches.

The controls are: LEVEL, TONE, and DIST (distortion).

The jacks are: IN, OUT, and power

NOTE: to open the battery cover (which is on the top center area) - you squeeze the left and right sides of the battery cover - where the ridges are - (at the same time) and carefully lift up.

I took pictures of all sides of the pedal. There are a couple pictures of the inside of the pedal and there is a close-up picture of the chip.

NOTE:  There may be some imperfections that I overlooked. There are some imperfections that can be seen in person that do not appear in the pictures.    And - there maybe some imperfections show up in the pictures that are not that visible in person (like glares and dust specks).

The following is general information about this peda (info taken from a 1990s Ibanez Soundtank Series catalog):

The same basic circuitry as the famed TS9 Tube Screamer in a more economical format (the TS9 has a more expensive housing and its handwiring makes it more labor intensive to build than the TS5). Most people can't hear the difference between the our affordable Soundtank Tubescreamer and the more expensive originals. Are you one of the few who can?-why not find out for yourself.
