About This Listing

Juan Alvarez Sr. 1A 1980 flamenco Marcelo Barbero style. Juan Alvarez learned to make guitars with guidance from Marcelo Barbero. Another notable lutheir to come out of that workshop years later was Arcangel Fernandez. This guitar comes from a line of Santos Hernandez and Marcelo Barbero as is reflected in the headstock. It is in the tradition of Barbero using a Red Cedar soundboard with Cypress back and sides. Scale length is 650mm with low action.

This guitar has many hours of live playing and has lots of character. There are two repairs, one on the lower left side of the soundboard and one on the side, which is difficult to see. It is in very good structural condition and the sound has not been altered in any way. This is an excellent guitar for both solo and accompanied performance and is not limited only to flamenco having a full deep sound.

The guitar is priced well below others in the same range and quality.
