This is a limited edition product. Only 68 to ever be made. As of the end of December 2023, there are just 8 remaining. Each one signed, numbered and dated.

The DiVision presents class A, single-ended tube tone with a rock bottom -99dB noise floor.  A whopping 230 Volts of B+ is generated inside the DiVision from a standard 9V pedal adapter.  Very low heat is created due to the efficiency of the Nuvistor tube and the high efficiency of the LBA-designed onboard power converter.  It outputs +11dB through a custom designed LBA transformer.  Entirely made by one man in the USA.  A work of Art, numbered, signed and limited to 68 DiVisions total.

The DiVision is a limited edition vacuum tube powered direct box. It features the worlds smallest vacuum tube, a nuvistor, and a custom designed Lightning Boy Audio MC15 transformer.  This DI is incredibly compact for a tube design, weighing in at just under a pound (15 ounces).  It is powered by a standard 9V DC pedal adapter, which is stepped up inside the DiVision to 230V DC for the ideal B+ voltage needed by the nuvistor vacuum tube. Control knobs are input "volume" and "Vision," which is a tube-powered high frequency shelving boost. Buttons are phase invert and ground lift, as seen on the TI Box. Jacks are 1/4" input and bypass, and XLR mic-level balanced output. Power connection is a standard Boss-style barrel jack.

This design utilizes a single 6DS4 nuvistor vacuum tube running at 230V. I wanted to balance tube life with great tone and low heat. Great tone doesn't usually balance well with low heat and long tube life IMO, but I found a zone where it balances out nicely. The onboard power supply is designed to be efficient and low noise in order to generate the 230V B+ and 6V filament voltages with minimal heat dissipation. The entire unit gets warm during use, but never hot. I'm running the tube's filament a little below its rating of 6.3V since it has no effect on performance, but the lower heater filament voltage does extend heater filament life substantially.

The volume control allows the user to attenuate loud signals before they hit the output transformer, should that be desired (for greater clarity). The vision knob is a high frequency shelving boost, which provides up to 6dB of boost. This control is an active EQ circuit, which is powered directly from the nuvistor. Tube EQ!

The LBA-MC15 audio transformer is the output transformer of the DiVision. It's the same transformer used in the TI Box. If you're not already aware, I make these in-house.  More information on my website.

Now shipping with the new EQ Mod & Wet Out!  The EQ Mod adds a few new features to the DiVision along with some cosmetic changes.  The "Range" switch allows the user to select either the stock "Vision" frequency of 10kHz, or a new lower frequency of about 3.4kHz.  The "Dark" switch is a passive high frequency roll-off at 10kHz and is the inverse slope of the vision knob maxed at the HI range setting.  If the Range is set to "HI", the frequency response of the DiVision is relatively unchanged, albeit with a bit more coloration of the sound.  However, if the same is done, but with the Range switch set to "Lo" with the Vision knob turned up and the "Dark" switch is engaged, an upper-mid bell-curve boost happens at around 3.4kHz.  This can give the effect of more presence in the bass sound.  Also included in the new EQ Mod is a 1/4" wet output labeled "DiVided".  This output comes pre-transformer, but post tube and EQ circuitry. It can be used to drive an amp or an FX chain with a preamplified signal from the DiVision. The Bypass output (dry), The DiVided output (wet), and the XLR output (Lo-Z) can all be used at the same time.
