As well as I can research this case seems to be
ONE OF A KIND.
* Unique to this case it seems this was one of the first runs Fender created with the U style case handle brackets; after scouring the internet I haven’t been able to find another like it.
This is a Fender Stratocaster/telecaster tweed case from the 1955-1958 era of case builds.
Given its age It’s in fantastic condition!
Almost no stitching out of place and all of the leather ends are barely worn.
The handle shows almost no wear at all, leading me to believe this was stored not gigged.
The top and back show some age where other cases were stored on top of it.
Neither of the spring latches fling open but the left latch does still have the spring intact.
The top and bottom of the case towards the handle side both have a crack in the tweed , it doesn’t affect the functionality of the case.
The interior is still a vibrant red and has no case smell, the interior pocket still has its leather tab and while fully functional is a bit loose at the joint.
The case closes evenly , but the metal brackets on the corners have moved upward over time making it appear less so.
