Exceptionally rare and amazing Gibson Superstrat!
These guitars were Gibsons very brief flirtation (1984-1986) with a super Strat and they absolutely nailed it. These guitars, along with the US1s, Victorys, and Futura/Corvus, are in all seriousness MUCH better than the Fenders, Jacksons and Kramers they competed against in the 1980s. Unfortunately they just never converted players of those brands. That means limited production and just a 3 years of production. These are hard to find in this condition, or frankly in any condition. The Qs are by far my favorite instrument for stage and recording ( that’s why I have/had 7 of them 😳). The wife has spoken and its time to thin the herd as my playing days are farther apart and passing me by. These are becoming strong collectors items for good reason. Grab a piece of history!
This guitar has the perfect combination of pickups and electronics. The neck pickup is a hum canceling P-100 which is a stacked Humber form of the classic P-90. The bridge pickup is, in my opinion, the best pickup that Gibson has ever used used in their guitars; the Dirty Finger Humbucker. This pickup has amazing bite when pushed into overdrive, and is clear as a bell, especially the highs, no matter the mode your playing. The pickup are wired with a coil splitter to operate in single coil mode on both the pickups for more of that Strat tone, only thicker.
It also comes with a factory installed Floyd Rose Free Floating Tremelo, the industry standard for excellent Tremelo units. It stays in tune no matter how you abuse it, it is very sensitive so you can get lots of pull and dive bombing with little effort, and has fine tuners to dial in perfect tune. Great for your tech to get you setup quickly between changes.
Comes with the original Gibson fitted Hardshell case.
