What's the deal with refurbished?
This instrument was either an overstock or was deemed by the factory to have an imperfection. Check the description to see exactly why this instrument is considered refurbished. We scrutinize every instrument we sell and pass along all information from the refurbisher so that you know exactly what you are getting. The guitar is not stamped used or 2ND and the original serial number is present and not tampered with. These are like new with little or zero play wear!
Made in the USA. Only 25 made in total, the GSR M-85 II features a fully hollow body with a laminated spruce arched top supported with parallel tone bar bracing and bound with classic 4-ply black and white binding. The back and sides are mahogany and the three-piece mahogany/maple neck is topped with rosewood and finished off with mother-of-pearl dot inlays. The electronics offer a low end roll-off via a two-way mini toggle, and other features include a combo bridge/tailpiece with rosewood saddles, Gotoh tuners, a vintage-style “Chesterfield” inlay, and a nitrocellulose lacquer finish in Cherry Red.
This particular instrument has had a tiny 1/8" long lacquer check sealed by a Guild-authorized refurbisher on the bass side of the neck at the nut. This was a blemish in the finish only, not in the wood, and we have included a close-up photo. There is a short scratch on the top between the pickup selector switch and the fretboard, and a couple of light depressions in the lacquer on the side of the body at the waist. Lastly, there are two spots where the lacquer clearcoat has settled very slightly into the woodgrain on the back of the body. These spots are only visible when caught just right under strong lighting, but we have tried our best to capture them with a close-up photo, along with the other imperfections described. Aside from these, this instrument is in mint condition.

We have given this bass a full professional setup to make sure it is playing nice and low without buzz. We have fully tested all hardware and electronics and it is ready to play!
