One of the rarest Custom Shop basses in the world and the model of arguably the most famous and influential electric bass player that ever lived. This is one of two available for sale anywhere in the world, with this one priced $1,000 less. Case, COA and Case Candy included.

When the Fender Custom Shop division was starting in the early 90's, they were commissioned to build some exact replicas of two of the most famous basses ever: James Jamerson's "Funk Machine" and Jaco Pastorius' "Bass of Doom". Only 100 were built, and it was the world famous Bass Center in Studio City that distributed them to some of the best bass players in the world...this is number 31.

It is the closest reissue of Jaco's bass ever. The reason behind this is that Fender called Jaco's luthier Kevin Kaufman to design the bass and check the entire build process. No corners were cut, and Kevin had plenty of time and resources to accomplish his mission.
