About This Listing

Kapa '60s New Old Stock Semi-Finished Electric 12 String Guitar Neck.

KAPA was the guitar brand of Koob Veneman, a luthier from Europe who opened the much beloved* and much missed Veneman Music on Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring, Maryland in the '60s. For 15 minutes everybody wanted to be a Byrd but when that crashed there was plenty of surplus to go around. This neck needs frets, nut, finishing and setup. It's nice and straight with the truss rod nut intact. I measured 1.791" width at the nut,  2.116" at the 12th fret. approximately 18&1/8" from the nut slot to the 22nd fret. Back in the day we found 100's of these necks in a garden shed on the outskirts of Frederick, Maryland but this is the last one we know of. Another Interesting Fact: Bob Marley and Kenny "Trainwreck" Fischer lived in Silver Spring in the late '60s, also home at that time to the great photographic artist Nan Goldin. I wonder if they ever met?
*By the way, I bought a candy apple red 'stack knob' '61 Jazz Bass in that shop for $150 but later traded it for a Gibson EBO.

Prompt shipping with Delivery Confirmation in the USA is $9.99.
