Here is a near-mint Yamaha YAS-32 alto saxophone, made in Japan. The
YAS-32 is the European equivalent of the YAS-52, which was only sold in
the USA. That was superseded by the YAS-475 so think of this as an
early generation intermediate/semipro model. This sax came out in the
70's as an intermediate /semi pro model in the same line as the early
"purple label" YAS-62's which are regarded as one of the finest alto
saxophones ever made. This is the same generation Made in Japan "purple
label" YAS-32 and many players say this model is better than the
current crop of YAS-62 professional models.
Near mint, immaculate condition with only very light signs of use, Extremely well kept, all pads are in prime condition and everything seals nicely with no leaks anywhere. This is one of the finest specimens of that generation of sax you will likely ever find. Original case is also in excellent condition.
The difference between this model and a student sax such as the YAS-23 is enormous - this is much closer to the pro model YAS-62 than it is to the student model. Much better key action, much easier playability with the table keys. If you are serious about playing the sax do yourself a huge favor and just start with a sax that is easy to play from day one rather than struggle for years on something hard to play. The extra money for a quality sax is well worth it.
Please note there is NO mouthpiece included here - if you are already playing chances are you have your own favorite mouthpiece and if you are just beginning you can get the Yamaha 4C for less than $30.
