Custom Stratocaster* Relic - MJT Finish Surf Green - Chunky Neck

Custom Relic Stratocaster* Strat* – ’54 Tone Emporium Pickups - finish by Mark Jenny Tele (MJTele - MJT®Aged Guitar Finishes). Mark and Matt Jenny are well known on any Strat/Tele Forum for their masterpieces! Their quality of their products is right there with the Custom Shop Relics! This is an Alder replacement body for a Stratocaster* guitar. The body was cut to vintage S style specs by Wildwood Manufacturing in California USA. It’s topped off with an aged vintage 100% nitro Surf Green finish -Medium/Heavy Relic with Medium/Heavy Lacquer Checking by Mark Jenny of MJT®Aged Guitar Finishes.

This is an Allparts brand Fender* licensed replacement neck for a Stratocaster* guitar. The neck is Allparts Chunky ‘C’ Profile - Maple neck with Rosewood fingerboard with a 10” Radius. 21 medium frets(.079" x .055"). Neck thickness 1.0" at first fret, 1.0" at twelfth fret.  Heel width 2-3/16". Single Acting Truss Rod at the Heel. Hand Dressed/Rolled Board and Fret Ends. Graph Tech TUSQ Nut. Aged Vintage Style String Tree. I lubricate string trees, nut, and saddles with Super-Vee Superglide lubricant. Aged Vintage Fender Tuners/Mounting Screws. It’s finished with aged vintage 100% nitro lacquer. Heavy Relic with Lacquer Checking on the Headstock.

The pickups are ’54 Tone Emporium Pickups – Amazing Tone!!. Aged ’62 11 Hole Mint Green Pickguard, with Full Aluminum Shield, Pickup Covers, Switch Tip, Tremolo Tip, Pickguard Screws, Pickup Mounting Screws, Neck Plate Mounting Screws, Jack Cup, and ‘F’ Neck Plate. All cavities have been shielded with Stew-Mac Conductive Shielding Paint. CRL 5 Way Switch. Sprague Black Beauty Tone Cap - .047uf. Switchcraft Output Jack.  CTS 450G 250K  Volume/Tone Pots. Vintage Cloth Push Back Wiring. Aged Vintage Fender ‘62 Re-Issue Tremolo with Full Steel Block. The Tremolo is set similar to Jeff Beck’s Set-Up – the Claw is ‘cocked’ for a more even String to Spring Tension = Better return to ‘zero’.  Please see Carl Verheyen on YouTube – Musicians Institute. The pickups I chose for this Relic have some very nice tone with a lot of quack in the 2 and 4 positions. The bridge is actually smooth versus the ice pick. The neck pup is very ‘woody’!! Not muddy!! An extremely nice alternative to the Fat ‘50’s!! Here are the Spec’s:

Fabric taped to protect the coil. Lightly vacuum wax potted with special blend of wax for squeal free operation at high volume.

This is not a low output set, these are wound slightly hotter than Vintage for a thick, full tone with a tight, rich bottom end balanced mids and sweet, glassy top end.

LOOKS, PLAYS, and SOUNDS GREAT!! This is a medium weight Tone Monster! An AMAZING GUITAR!! I attempted to capture the lacquer checking, hopefully, to better represent the lightness/darkness/checking of the neck and the body. The pricing on my Relic Guitar Projects is very close to the cost to build - please research this - you would really be challenged to build one this nice, for this price! It's robbery the quality of guitar I got for the money I paid here. Just awesome. If you want a Nash or a Fender CS but don't have that kind of money, just give Mike a look. I've worked at a large G&L dealer & a regional flagship Guitar Center with a Platinum Room. I played a lot of guitars. You don't find tone & features like this unless you're going $1900 & up. He's a super nice guy too & that counts big time with me. Thanks Mike!
