Mosky Audio - Deluxe Preamp

Mosky produces quite good-sounding, but cheaper copies of - above all - various boutique pedals.

The Deluxe Preamp is part of the Mosky Handwired series, and is actually a Lovepedal Amp11 Clone, which is available in 2 different versions.

The amp 11 itself is actually an OD11 and a COT50 in a single enclosure, the Od11 is Lovepedal's slightly modified version of a Timmy, but without the 3 different clipping options, but with - I think - a lightly more natural sound, which produces good clean until transparent overdrive sounds that do not colour the signal too much, the COT50 is actually one of the Lovepdal versions of a modified Elektra but sounds a bit different and is known for its very good, dynamic reaction and natural-sounding low to mid - gain sounds.

In combination, you can dial in a lot of useful, good sounds.

From Mosky there are 2 versions of this circuit available, once the Amp Turbo, like the original in green enclosure, and the Deluxe Preamp in dark blue, which, in principle identically, additionally has 2 clipping selector switches on the OD11 section, and a single clipping switch added on the COT50 / Boost part, with allow the choice between different clipping diodes.

The diodes produce a slightly rounder sound in one position, even with slightly more bass, in the other a slightly crispier, fresher, snappier sound.

The original Amp 11 exists in two versions, in the earlier Boost was only activated if the OD11 part was also actiavted, in later versions Boost could also be activated alone, which was also adopted here.

In terms of sound, everything from decent clean boost to even heavier, natural sounding overdrive is adjuatable, even light crunch sounds good, and can be finetuned individually with the help of the additional clipping options.

Pretty intense sound changes are also possible with different ettings of the bass and treble controls, more bass delivers very good results especially with cleaner sound, with much gain and combination of the two sides (too) intense bass can provide even interesting fuzz sounds. If you turn the bass back a bit, you get great sounding, classic overdrive sounds, which can be adjusted to more American or British sounding voicings, or can sound more vintage or modern.

The pedal works only with 9V power supply (center negative), stabilized recommended, an unstabilized power supply may produce some hum or noise.

The pedal is almost as new, comes in original box.
