Vintage collectable Dixie brand Banjo Ukulele (Banjolele) in fantastic shape. Appears to be mostly/all original. Chrome plated zinc (from what I've read online) with a calfskin head and lined soft bag in great condition. Some light chrome pitting, and the drumhead holds the indent of the bridge when tension is removed from the strings. From what I've read, the "Patent Pending" on the back of the headstock dates this in the early-1950's. I believe the multi-colored strings are original, as well. According to my father-in-law, this was unsold stock out of storage from his dad's small town general store, which would definitely explain its fantastic condition. While it's probably most valuable as a collectable, vintage toy instrument, it plays and sounds surprisingly good. It's LOUD. I was able to get it tuned up pretty easily and play some tunes on it around the neck. I haven't done anything to tune up the drumhead at all. I attached a YouTube video of someone playing what looks to be an identical banjolele (not this one) to give you a rough idea of what to expect. Message me if you have any questions at all, and I'll do my best to reply ASAP. Thanks!
