About this listing
Now available on consignment, a late 1969 Gibson Les Paul Custom. This is a pretty funky, heavily modified Les Paul Custom, one year after the reintroduction of the “black beauty”. This guitar retains the following original parts: the ABR-1 bridge, patent # decal pickups, and wiring harness with the pots dating to late 1969. Everything else on the guitar has been changed, all the plastics, pickup covers, tailpiece, frets, tuners, and, most obviously, the finish. However, this refinish was done very well, the hue is quite a tasteful midnight blue, well applied and a fair while ago to boot. As well as giving this guitar somewhat of a Mick Ronson-like appearance, it gives you the chance to observe the pancake body typical of late 1969.Despite the work done to this guitar, there are no breaks or cracks anywhere, it has a lovely straight neck and the replaced frets are nice and small, similar to Fender size. It’s definitely slightly hefty, but not too bad for a Les Paul Custom of this period.Freshly set up with 10-46 this Les Paul is ready to play, includes its original purple lined Gibson case.--- Joel's Vintage Guitars is a by appointment vintage & used guitar store located in Sydney, Australia.
