you want an awesome player's tele ? here she is.
a great instrument in it's own right or a fantastic platform for mods ! i was about to add a new bridge, saddles, and pickguard to this beast but figured there might be some ladies and gents out there who'd love this guitar for who she is. it doesn't *need* any mods and i need to spend more time playing and less time tinkering.
every time i have a tele in the house i can't stop toying with modifications, whether it's pickups or other hardware, etc. teles are like the honda civics of Guitar Land, right ? no? OK bad analogy...
Mexi teles are some of my favorites b/c you can really "make them yours" with a few simple modifications while escaping the guilt of buying a $1000+ guitar and then still wondering if you should replace X, Y, or Z.
anyway, this MIM tele has the Fralin Blues set in the neck & bridge positions along with a push/pull tone control which allows you to use the PU's together (for a thicker humbucker sound). Lindy Fralin makes some of the best pickups in the world IMO, and i'm especially biased b/c he makes them here in my hometown of Richmond, VA.
the neck is nice and smooth, not sticky but not satin - sort of a semi-gloss. it intonates well and the stock tuners do a pretty good job. frets are in good shape. it's setup for .10s and has a fresh set of D'addario XLs on them right now. the body is resonant.
comes with a wonky-but-sturdy-enough hardshell case (pictured).
see photos for nicks, dings, and scuffs. it's certainly not in mint condition but none of the cosmetic blemishes affect the playability or sound of this workhorse tele !
