When you think of Germany, you think of craftsmanship, quality, and timelessness. Like a classic Mercedes Gull Wing, this shows the true form of German artistry. This beautiful 1964, Framus Television (Model 5/118-54), is in exceptional condition, and ready to be yours.
Condition: Very good, few scratches and nicks. A two inch bit of binding has come off at the first fret, but not very noticeable. It is missing on knob, though Framus does sell replicas. Tremolo is extremely smooth and fluid. Trem arm stays stationary. Input jack perfectly intact. Tuners work great, and stays in tune nicely.
Electronics: Beyond excellent. This is where this guitar truly shines. A couple month ago I had this guitars main electronics professionally serviced, and clean. They are all original, and work perfectly. The knobs are slow to move, but I find this guitar is left all the way up, and then us the switches in top left side of the guitar to adjust your tone.
Pickups: The guitar has three oversized, single coil pickups. A very nice three pickup on/off section, as well as a unique tone switch for the neck and bridge pickups. These two switches are best explained as rolling off the tone knob, for a nice, gentle, jazzy box tone. When used in combination with other pickups, it can almost sound humbucker like. I would describe this guitar best for surf, jazz, and classic rock. I've heard that the Beatles used them for recordings in their early works.
Case: The case is in very good condition for it being 50 years old. Leather straps still completely intact. The handle has been taped, and I have not tried removing it. Its extremely rare to find these together.
I have greatly enjoyed owning this guitar, however I am in great need of a solid body with humbuckers. I'll really miss it, but sadly we can't have it all! Don't miss out of this extremely collectable, offset beauty.
