The only thing working when we got this was its' Mojo. The pick guard had been broken into three pieces and was distorted with age, the original wooden bridge was split, and the pickup didn't work. It still felt like a cool guitar. The date code on the American made pots says 1965 and the pot was original and functional. The first thing I did was to have the pickup wound by Smit's Pickups. They used the same size wire and wound the coil to its' original weight then wax potted it and added a shielded lead. It's quiet but sounds great. I made a new pickguard and added a compensating bridge that fit the old studs but significantly improved the intonation. The result is a great old guitar that sounds like or even better than it did new. The tone from the wax potted pickup is full and rich even at low volume but it will scream if you use overdrive. The instrument is light but very well balanced and the action is low over the entire fretboard. The frets are brass and definitely show some wear but there's still plenty of metal left. Note in pic #5 that the high E tuner is slightly bent. The tuners are original and fully functional. The guitar ships in a new deluxe Planet Waves case.
